The notion behind it is that EU has transformed most of Europe from a continent of wars to a continent of peace and for its efforts for rebuilding Europe after two World-Wars.
EU will get USD1.2 Million on December 10. They won the coveted prize out of 231 candidates including some religious leaders.
But the single currency 27-nation European Union is now mired in crisis.
